You need to change both WordPress address URL and Site address URL.

Some websites starts with www. and some websites dont. It is just a sub domain and many websites nowadays work without the www version but many famous websites are still running in the www version. Once you set up a particular version you should not change it later because all your search engines results will show whether this version or that version. So you have to decide on what you want.

Most important: Once you have done with it. Don’t ever change it again

3.Set up Permalink structure

A permalink is basically a URL structure that comes on your website.

Always select post name is what I would recommend.

Always make the url structure clean and that is what we call as SEO friendly URLs. People should be able to go directly into the page by typing the URL. Don’t worry while publishing the post you can edit the URL structure.

4.Publish a new post

Dashboard->posts->add new

Two types of editors

  1. Visual
  2. Text

When ever you are copying some content, it is better to paste it in a text editor.

Give Title-> Content->Save draft->edit perma link-> Add New Category-> Publish

Posts are attached with a date and it appears on the chronological order of the homepage of the blog.

5.Publish a new page

Dashboard->pages->add new

Pages are something which is not attached with a date. They are just static pages inside your WordPress blog.

6.Sidebar widgets

In most of the themes, you will see side bar with a lot of different widgets like recent posts, recent comments etc. This can be edited from the appearance session.

Dashboard->Appearance->Widgets-> Main side bar session

You can edit, remove what ever not required. You can Add image as well in the side bar.

The side bars totally depends upon the theme.
